Matt Minter
Matt Minter (Owner, Writer, Producer and Director)
Matt loves storytelling, especially in prose, film and TV. From an early age, he fell in love with heroic, supernatural, and railway-themed stories. Matt believes that story substance is more important than style alone. He believes that to be a good writer, producer and director; you need to experience all aspects of production, not just to understand the creative but the logistics and technical of the rest of the crew (camera, lighting, sound, editing, VFX, production design, production management and continuity). He has worked on over 25 screen productions and eight book projects since 2008.
Matt is a strong supporter of co-productions with the USA, Canada, Japan, UK, France, Mexico, Ireland, Ukraine and Israel that will benefit the Australian Screen Industry.
From 2018 onwards, he has been focused on writing books based on his film and TV stories. These books are being created as part of a proof-of-concept campaign to attract audiences and finances. Spirit Railway and Shivers were published in 2024.
In 2019, he received a Regional Arts Fund grant from Sunshine Coast Council for his Oceania book project. In 2020, he received a Regional Arts Fund grant from Sunshine Coast Council for his animated Dark Vixen TV series project. Matt strongly advocates for better support of disabled writers in film and prose.
Matt has had 12 years of retail and customer experience at some of Australia's biggest retail and telecommunication companies. He has volunteered at an animal shelter and a few op-shops.
The most important thing to know about Matt is that he believes in justice, logic and that the ends justify the means.
